Little Numbers

Happy Sunday everyone! A few weeks ago we were going to do the blog and realized we didn't really have any fun facts or photos to share so apparently we decided to wait and do an extreme blog. Someday we'll get the perfect balance...

Okay so first things first, the girls had their four month appointment. It was determined yet again that they are perfect :) Shots went okay...Emily was tired and did not appreciate getting poked in the legs multiple times. Thankfully Dad was there to comfort her. Lucy had Mom supporting her this time, thankfully she literally got upset for 2 seconds and then acted as if nothing happened. Their stats are as follows:

Emily
Weight - 13 pounds, 8 ounces (50%)
Height - 23 and 1/2 inches (25%)
Head  - 16 and 5/8 inches (85%)

Lucy
Weight - 13 pounds, 13 ounces (70%)
Height - 24 and 1/2 inches (60%)
Head - 17 and 1/8 inches (>97%)

Despite what everyone thinks based on pictures, Lucy is still the bigger one :) Her head is dominating everyone in her age group as well. Poor kid haha. Their next big adventure will be learning to roll over. They both have mastered getting onto their sides, it is only a matter of time before they make it all the way. They have also mastered the art of not staying in the same place. When we put them to bed at night they normally turn at least 180 degrees, Emily especially likes to flip around and make us confused on how we actually put her in bed to begin with. Needless to say this has provided us some insight into how crazy our lives will become once they become mobile. Their four month picture will be posted later this week so impatiently wait for that! There will of course be random pictures below so enjoy those.

In other big news, we made our second trip to Indiana this past weekend. Thankfully this one was planned in advance and thus packing was slightly less chaotic...although not by much despite my list making. We of course didn't get a chance to see everyone and felt like we were in a mad dash throughout the whole weekend but it was fabulous nonetheless.

Saturday we had the busiest day with a football game in the morning and a wedding reception/dinner celebration in the evening. Dan and I left the ladies (in their IU gear of course) with Grandma Cooper and off we went to Bloomington.

Every year Dan and I have attempted to return to our stomping grounds, in addition it has been a good excuse to get the old roomies back together too. Unfortunately Amy wasn't able to make it this year but Melissa and Drea joined in on the fun.
 

We had a few other familiar faces and even some newbies (Welcome SarahKate and Nick!).

As hard as we tried to cheer...the Hoosiers weren't able to pull out a victory. We did have a fabulous time, however AND I got my first sunburn of the summer! Yep, had to wait all the way until October...not sure if having summer babies is as fun as people think haha, jk. After the game wrapped up we quickly made our way back to Indianapolis to change and get ready for party number two. Frank and Jane got married back in June (like I mentioned before) and it was their evening of celebration. They had a small ceremony so this was a chance for family and friends to get together to toast their nuptials. This was also the premier of the twins for many family members, however, Lucy quickly decided that she did not feel well and thus did not want to be passed around or seen by anyone other then mom and dad so my evening quickly turned into soothing a very crabby baby. Em decided to take over being the life of the party!

Both ladies ended up sleeping for ten hours that evening...it was a big night for everyone!

Finally the weekend ended with our last big event. My dad decided on one of the coldest days to get remarried outside. I made fun of him and told him it was a hillbilly wedding...I am pretty sure he brought on the cold weather to get me back. :)

After all that fun Sunday afternoon we hit the road back to Minnesota. Thankfully Bob had driven down too and beat us back by 20 minutes to turn the heat on. Apparently we should remember that when we leave in the fall we should reconsider what we leave running. It was in the 70s when we left...it was in the 30s when we returned. Our 57 degree house didn't take too terribly long to heat up though. We had a fabulous time visiting with everyone. We aren't sure when our next trip home will be. At the moment we have nothing scheduled and will be spending both Thanksgiving and Christmas in Minnesota. We will be taking reservations if anyone is interested in visiting during these times. We have had a few takers but are willing to negotiate to those willing to pay a higher fee, jk. :)
