Week 9 Dr Visit

The week 9 doctor visit has come and gone. We have moved back to our normal clinic, Associates in Women's Health.

Visit Recap
Everyone was excited to see us. We had been going there every two weeks for the last year so it felt like going home again. We met with the nurse practitioner to walkthrough our family history and discuss the normal schedule for pregnancy. We also learned that Jennifer's uterus is the size of an orange...a normal singleton pregnancy is typically the size of a clementine. Go figure!

Hospital Selection
There are a couple different hospital options in the Twin Cities (Southdale, Fairview, Abbott), but we ultimately decided on Abbott Northwestern for a couple reasons. First, it is the closest to our apartment. But most importantly, they are connected to one of the top children's hospitals. Jennifer had a surgery here over a year ago and is also a big fan of their heated hospital gowns.

Next Visit
We have our first scheduled appointment with our doctor on the Tuesday (11/29) after Thanksgiving. She will be able to provide more details on our specific pregnancy plan and help answer any questions along the way. We started with her so we are looking forward to finally giving her some good news. On a more random note, the nurse we met with had her baby delivered by our doctor 15 years ago. We hope this is a good sign!
