Where Did Our Baby Go?

In case you have been wondering, in the past two months we went from having a baby to a teenager. Our lovely Ms. Mackenzie just keeps growing faster and faster every time we seem to turn around. She LOVES to be around her sisters (even when they don't want her to be around them) and does everything in her power to keep up with them at all costs. She no longer sits still for more than 30 seconds making diaper changes and getting dressed quite the adventure. She has learned to babble and has words like "Mama, Dada, and Bob" in her vocabulary...she also says something similar to "all done" and is learning to boss us around already. In the past month she has popped two teeth on the bottom. In one of the pictures below for the 8th month shot you can somewhat see the teeth poking through. She is a master crawler and has begun to do some furniture surfing and we are taking bets on when the first steps might come.

Her sisters are learning to love her, Lucy struggles with not being able to push her away like she can Emily. They love to make Mackenzie laugh and it just makes us smile when we hear all three of them giggling together. So now we will overload you with adorable pictures:

7 Months:

I'm not sure what was happening to make her cry but I think it may have something to do with Lucy :)

8 Months:

They all cooperated for exactly 3 seconds for the group shot...needless to say it isn't as easy as it once was :) Our final fun fact about Mackenzie is she has decided to grow bigger faster than her sisters. She is officially moving into 12 month clothes, which normally wouldn't be a problem since we have more clothes for this kid than anyone needs, however, the girls didn't hit 12 months until June so needless to say some quick clearance shopping was done to help bridge the gap until the warm weather arrives. Apparently she wasn't feeling her hand-me-downs.

Our other excitement for the month of January included Dan's 31st birthday!

The twins have begun to gain a better understanding of what happens when we celebrate birthdays and get super excited to sing!

They were a little disappointed that Mackenzie got to help Dad blow out the candles but it was nice to have some help singing Happy Birthday this year since Bob normally only sings a couple words before giving up.

We got to enjoy some fantastic cheesecake, Dan played a broomball game, and we celebrated with a concert that weekend! Not too shabby :)

I think we are slowly but surely catching you up on our lives lately. Things tend to get a little slower when it is cold and we turn into hermits...except for Dan and Bob who play broomball outside in negative degree weather. Gross! Until next time!

  1. So darn cute! I love the long hair and also the way Mackenzie is sitting just like her Dad in the birthday pics. Things are really moving along at your house! Enjoy the rest of your winter, may it move on quickly. :=)
