Just when we think we have a handle on keeping this blog up to date, we go 3 weeks without an update. Since it is now snowing outside on this beautiful spring night, I figured it was a perfect time to get caught up.
Quickly following Grandma Sharon's visit, Grandma Jane and Aunt Liz were up for a long weekend while Liz was on spring break. The girls were very excited to have new reading buddies and we were more than happy to take a break from ABC and Go Dog Go! Speaking of the alphabet, Emily has a new favorite version. As a reminder, her old version when something like this:
A, B, C, D, E, A, B, C, D, E, YEEAAAHHH!!!!With her new version however, she has added a slight twist:
A, B, C, D, EMILY, A, B, C, D, YEAHHHH!!!We'll get there...
Back to the visit, we had a great time spending time with Liz and my Mom. We were even able to get out to a few restaurants / bars that we haven't been to before. Going forward, I think we will have to do this with all visitors. Plus, it will be spring/summer so we have no excuses.
Over the last few weeks, the girls have started to mimic a lot of our traits and habits. As some of you probably noticed on Facebook this past weekend, they pick up some of the more random ones. During our week 29 pictures, the girls thought it would be fun to copy Jennifer when taking pictures. We had a good laugh about it. It's amazing to see them pick up a trait or behavior that they didn't have the previous week or even previous day. You never know what light will turn on when.
While both girls have started to "jump" on the bed, Emily is the most daring. The best way to describe it: She is attempting to cannonball onto the bed from a standing position without getting any vertical lift on her jump. It's a sight to see.
Now to what everyone has been waiting for...
Over the last few weeks, we have had our final (!) growth ultrasound and our week 30 appointment. All of the previous concerns about fluid levels, growth, and placenta previa are no more. We are officially back to a normal pregnancy. Because of this great news, Jennifer was cleared to go to Chicago to shop for a bridesmaid's dress for Drea's (college roommate) wedding in November. While it was a quick weekend, I am sure it was great to get away for a few days.
During our week 30 appointment today, Jennifer was also cleared to attend Milan and Jenny's wedding in Houston in 2 weeks! We took a gamble, similar to her Atlanta trip, that she would be able to get out of the flight if she was unable to fly. Thankfully we shouldn't have to go through that process again. We can't wait to head down there in a few weeks. Should be a great time.
| After climbing the side of a mountain, we should take a picture. |
Even though Jennifer alluded that no pictures were taken, I uncovered proof that I was in fact skiing at some place that had snow and mountains. Was it Aspen? Sure.
This weekend, we are going to attempt to upload some of the recent (and not so recent) videos we have taken. There a few of them that will become fan favorites.

Oh my goodness I love the copy cat belly pictures!! So funny. Colorado pics look beautiful, although I still would not be up for the challenge. Jumping is a great way to burn off energy while the weather is still iffy up in your area so, jump, jump away little Emily!! Jennifer looks great and I'm extremely happy all is well with the new baby and her Mommy. Have a fantastic trip and hopefully spring will get to Minneapolis eventually.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Dan! Those girls are so funny, I just love to watch them and can't wait to see them again. Hope everything continues on a positive note through the end of your pregnancy Jenny...what a relief :) Now just enjoy these last weeks!
