Where did we last leave off? The girls were at a month right?! Okay...since then we met Aunt Elizabeth and Aunt Jennifer. They came to spend a long weekend with us. Apparently we failed at getting pictures but I promise they were here! That weekend we also celebrated the birthday of our first "child". Zeus officially turned three years old. Since Dan's mom found him...we made up a birthday (based on how old the vet thought he was) so for all we know it could be the wrong day but we are going with it. Everyone still thinks he is a puppy but thankfully he has definitely calmed over the past year although now that we live in the house he has decided to exercise his barking muscles A LOT more often. He does not appreciate the mailman sneaking in to deliver the mail and of course provides us with an alternative doorbell option.

The weekend after that we had our new official roommate arrive. My older brother Bob has officially moved into our basement room and will be going back to school. It only took me SIX YEARS but I finally managed to get someone to move to Minnesota...if you don't count Leslie but really she moved for Andrew not me. :) We are excited to have him and he is quickly adjusting to life with two babies. He has been a big help during the day with feedings and runs to McDonalds to help feed my addiction. Don't judge...I love it!! Anyways, thankfully my dad helped Bob make the big move and they FIX OUR WATER!! Okay, so if you haven't been to our house yet we had some issues with water pressure. If you flushed the toilet and went to wash your hands you had a bit of a decrease in the amount of water flow that would be coming out of the faucet. I'm happy to announce that last Monday I took a shower while the dishwasher was running! It was glorious. Dan has also had to adjust the sprinkler to avoid spraying our neighbors so we are SUPER grateful to both my dad and Bob for getting that fixed for us. They also brought us our new dining room table and installed a ceiling fan so it was quite the productive weekend. Then this past weekend since Bob moved we were able to celebrate his 30th birthday with him!!! Holy moly he is getting old. Dan made a fabulous dinner of steaks and of course we had to enjoy some ice cream cake. PS: In case you are wondering why the cake says Checkers instead of Bob...there was a random commercial on TV last time Bob was up (the weekend I went into labor actually) and there was a guy named Checkers...Bob made the random comment that he wished his name was Checkers (joking of course) and Dan hasn't let it go...so now to give Bob a hard time he is called Checkers.

That brings us to now...we have one more set of visitors this next weekend and then the Nevers' Inn will be closing until after Labor Day. :) I am sad to announce that my maternity leave is quickly coming to an end so I'm attempting to spend this last month soaking up all the attention I can get from my little ladies. I suppose I should get to updates on the girls eh? I'm sure you are all curious. They have been doing fabulous. We got our first evening of almost 5 hours of sleep last night and we feel like a million bucks today! They are slowly but surely sleeping longer at night and staying awake more during the day. Each morning we do what I like to call "couch cuddle time" where they get to sit and punch each other in the face. We have also discovered that to get them to stop crying when they are waiting for their bottles in their room, if we sit them in the glider...it works like a charm...plus makes us laugh because they look so adorable:

As part of our days of fun we have officially busted out the activity mat! They either seem to love it or hate it depending on their mood. The past few days Lucy has found a butterfly that hangs on the side and enjoys yelling at it as well as attempting to grab it. Thus far she has been unsuccessful...but someday soon. Emily on the other hand found her reflection in the mirror...

But they have continued to get bigger. Emily had a doctor's appointment this past week and weighed 10 pounds and 5 ounces. We go for their 2 month wellness check on Wednesday of this week so we will finally have measurements for both of them. I am pretty sure we are also in for our first shots so this should be interesting...I have a feeling I might cry along with them. :/ Other fun facts...both have found their hands and thumbs. Lucy tends to be the one that sucks hers the most...especially when she spits out her pacifier and gets mad. Emily has been working on perfecting her drooling skills. She tends to leave a lovely puddle behind after snuggling with you. They have both started to give out smiles...only they tend to do it to everyone but me...thanks ladies. They also tend to make a lot more entertaining faces and noises. They met Dan's team at work two weeks ago and everyone loved them (of course). We are making the trip into my team on Friday so we are looking forward to more showing off fun! There are more random pictures we thought we would share below. I promise we will try to update in a more timely fashion next time...especially since we have their two month picture and doctor's appointment fun facts. We are definitely starting to feel more human now and are slowly but surely catching up on everything that we have been putting on hold for the past month so if we owe you a thank you card, phone call, etc...it should be coming soon!!! :)
